Elise Kiefer
Owner, Executive Travel Consultant

As a wife and mother of 7, I am always thinking of our next family adventure. From a trip to Florida, hitting the waves in the ocean, taking in a sandy sunset or making it to Disney, maybe a Fall cabin rental in the Smokey Mountains, hiking, smores and seeing the immense beauty of all the colors! Even better, maybe we leave the kids at home and hubby and I travel to Greece and overlook the Mediterranean Sea and eat and drink for some much-needed rest and connection. Meet my family here , and see why I do what I do! We became interested in international travels for educational trips and cultural experiences and felt drawn into the travel world as a CCT consultant!  We have watched my sister-in-law (Shelley Foley, founder of Citizen Chic Travel) create those experiences within her family and other families.  It has been a beautiful inspiration to live vicariously through their and others' travel photographs and experiences. 

As I step into the role of Owner of Citizen Chic Travel, I am graciously and humbly under the best mentor, leader and travel aficionado there is. Hello! I am Shelley, the founder of Citizen Chic Travel. I am a pharmacist, wife, mother of 3, and a person learning to incorporate dreams and passion into daily life. I have had a passion for travel and culture for over 20 years, beginning with my exchange student experience in Australia and followed by over 20 countries visited since then. I love exploring the beautiful landscapes of the earth and interacting with the wonderfully diverse people who inhabit it. I also love to allow others to participate in this passion through planning adventures for individuals, families, and groups and with others in our online community of travel lovers.

Citizen Chic Travel is a place where you can engage in culture and adventure and also allow knowledgeable and connected travel consultants to help you plan the most valuable and memorable trip for you. Welcome! I’m Amy and I have been passionate about travel since my first trip while I was in high school. As a wife and mom to 3 amazing young adults, it is time to find a way to share my passion with others. In between trips, I have always used books and pictures as a way to escape to those far off places that I dream of visiting. Now I want to help others experience those places firsthand. Travel adds a richness and depth to our lives that a physical possession simply cannot provide. I want to help you discover the places in this world that allow your soul to find peace and relaxation.

Melissa Walgamuth
Travel Consultant

Hi there friend! I’m Melissa! I am a woman who no longer wants to just sit behind a desk all day. Instead, I want to use my skills to accomplish dreams for myself and others. The sense of accomplishment alone is a great feeling that keeps me going.

I am currently a single mother to twin 15 year olds and a 17 year old. All boys. I don't waste an opportunity to offer them work to instill healthy work ethics, but I also always want to teach them to have fun, make friends, and travel. My experience with the Covid pandemic really changed my perspective on life. I refuse to wait until retirement to begin living. I want to live while I am alive with energy, and that includes traveling to new places to discover how other cultures are living their lives. Since I got my Passport in 2018, I have traveled out of the country about seven times.

With a degree in Psychology from Purdue, I have performed in different types of careers throughout my life. Working for myself has been the best decision for my work-life balance. I am excited to become Travel Agent because I wish to continue learning as a lifelong process, and this is another great tool to help me do just that.

I also enjoy being artistic. I learned to play guitar in my 40s while still enjoying singing, writing, painting, dancing, Yoga, etc. I’m excited to take my art with me on my travels. One of the items on my bucket list is to busk (perform music or other entertainment in the street or another public place) in an unfamiliar place while traveling.
